Tulane-Lafitte area of New Orleans; Right: “Render ID” image generated at the same
location.)

“Render ID” is a function
provided by rendering software VRay for the purpose of further photoshopping. The
software randomly designates a unique color to every single object appeared in
the digital model, without considering color “desirability” or aesthetics. For architects,
this colorful image is only recognized as a rough process through which a
realistic vignette can be achieved.

I try to look at this image as a
finished product. The colorfulness is especially appropriate for this particular
city, New Orleans, where diverse cultures are flourishing and being celebrated.
This automatically generated image is an art piece itself, articulating vigorous
aspects of the city.
