I personally love Coke Zero (though I know that I should be opting for water instead, I find myself grabbing a coke instinctually). Coca-Cola created its Coke Zero product to stand independently of Diet Coke, a variant of Coke that we consumers have come to know and love. Though fundamentally different in tastes, the premise of the two drinks is the same–both are low-calorie options to the original Coca-Cola. However, Coke Zero was created and marketed specifically to the young male population, who had come to associate diet drinks with women. This drink drew an untapped subset of the population with a product by basically repackaging a product we already knew, but recreating it as a sleek, desirable, non-feminine beverage.
