Twin-tipped skis are a new version of alpine skis which were created to let the skier ride down the slope, land and take of backwards. The Twin-tip ski has a curved up tail, which means the ski looks almost the same in both ends, and therefore the name Twin-Tip The skis were first created for big jumps and half-pipes, but lately the interest in Twin-tips and the popularity has been growing rapidly. You can now find these types of skis across all types of styles and sports, like telemark skis, powder skis and all-mountain skis. Solomon was the first company who successfully marketed Twin-tip skis, with their 1080 ski in 1998
